Was does a Pre-Workout Booster?
A pre-workout booster is a supplement that is taken before training to give intensively training athletes more motivation and Performance.
When do you take a pre-workout Booster?
A pre-workout booster offers many useful advantages when training. A pre-workout booster is particularly suitable for increasing motivation. Who hasn't been there: your colleagues are annoying, you're not feeling so fit today and you just want to go home or don't feel like training or packing your gym bag and leaving the comfortable Sofa.
A booster with stimulants that have an invigorating effect, such as caffeine, green tea extract, etc., can work wonders for motivation. Depending on the booster, it takes about 20-40 minutes to kick in and make you awake and tingly and, above all, excited for training. Everyone can probably use a motivational boost like this now and then. But a booster can do a lot more.
In addition to their stimulating extracts, many pre-workout boosters contain other substances that simultaneously increase muscle endurance by reducing the formation of lactate in the muscles. The burning sensation that you feel in your muscles after a few repetitions in a set is caused by the formation of lactic acid. This burning sensation forces you to end the set at some point. If you can do more repetitions, your muscle growth can also be stronger. These substances include beta-alanine and citrulline malate.
Another important effect of a pre-workout booster is the increased blood flow in the body and of course also in the muscles. If the muscle is supplied with more blood, many more important nutrients and oxygen can flow through it. This function is often performed by the amino acid arginine or AAKG. At the same time, creatine in the booster often ensures that ATP resynthesis is promoted, which can give you additional strength at the same time.
The best pre-workout boosters in the world
The biggest hype and the first real pre-workout booster that was known to the masses of bodybuilders was the legendary JACK 3d from USP Labs. This has been reformulated over time and is therefore no longer available on the market in the old Version.
There are now a plethora of pre-workout boosters on the market. They don't always have to be US manufacturers, the German manufacturers have learned well.
Pre Workout Booster US Version gegen EU Version
There are always retailers who have EU versions made in the States to make even more money. Often the small retailers and online shops don't even know this because they only get their goods from EU wholesalers. For example, VPX White Heat may be missing an ingredient that is essential but expensive.
The most recent example is the BSN CELL MASS, which normally has 3 different types of creatine in the US VERSION. There is also a low-quality version of this that has recently been made just for one retailer. However, this only contains one type of creatine, creatine Monohydrate.
Pre-Workout Booster
Which Pre Workout Booster is right for me?
First of all, you need to find out whether a pre-workout booster or a strong coffee works for you. It may be that a pre-workout booster does not work for everyone, but only for some people. In short, there are people for whom caffeine or etc. does not work at all because they do not have enough receptors for it in the central nervous system. Once you have clarified this, you will know whether a booster is worthwhile for you.
Are pre-workout and booster the same Thing?
In bodybuilding and fitness sports, boosters usually mean the same thing. A supplement that will give you more energy, strength and/or focus during training. For example, they help you to complete your training even when you feel unmotivated and while on a diet. A pre-workout booster can give you the power you need so that you can achieve your goals more easily.
Pre-Workout Booster Effect
Booster without caffeine
If you train in the evening and then have trouble falling asleep because of the stimulating substances, but still want to benefit from the other positive effects of a booster, either boosters without caffeine or so-called pump boosters are very suitable.
As the name suggests, a pump booster focuses on the pump, but also on strength. This is usually particularly successful with different types of creatine. Anyone who buys a pump booster needs to know that the typical ingredients often take a certain amount of time to develop their full effect.
A pump booster does not work the first time. Creatine in particular takes a certain amount of time to be stored in the body. However, this happens within a few days, so that the increase in strength occurs quite quickly. The advantage of a pump booster is not just the pump and the increase in strength. If you really take advantage of the effect, i.e. train harder and more intensively, you can also build a lot more muscle. Provided that the recovery time and of course the diet are right. This is the only way a booster like this can really help with muscle building.
But a booster without caffeine offers other advantages too. This type of booster can contain a lot more ingredients that are more useful. Thanks to the lactate inhibitors mentioned above, the muscle burning occurs later, so that more sets are possible. This can also be beneficial for muscle building, provided that you train accordingly.
Best Pre-Workout Booster 2024
You can of course find a detailed list and description of the best boosters in 2024 in our bodybuilding magazine in the article: The best pre-workout boosters in 2024 - our ranking
Every year, companies bring out new boosters and are literally tripping over themselves with new active ingredients. The reason is often the legal situation, which simply prohibits substances. But fortunately, companies often come up with something new when it comes to active ingredients, or of course make new discoveries. But that is not the only reason.
The number of booster fans has continued to rise and of course athletes are also keen on new boosters that make training easier and, above all, bring them progress. It is therefore obvious that companies are taking advantage of the more advanced research results and are constantly developing new products.
The most popular boosters that have been popular with you so far are the Radical Riot Booster from Undisputed Laboratories and the Rich Piana 5150 Booster.
Pre-Workout Booster Samples
You are not sure which is the best booster for you and don't want to buy a whole can? While there used to be numerous booster samples, unfortunately the manufacturers no longer offer as many of them. If the suppliers send us samples, we are of course always happy to pass them on to you.
Buy pre-workout boosters - but which is the best?
Now that you have decided to buy a pre-workout, you are probably asking yourself which one should I buy? What have other people had the best experiences with or which booster is the most hyped online? Jack3d was hyped. It is important never to rely on very strong and massive advertising. As soon as a booster is advertised on 20 YouTube channels, there is usually something fishy going on. That is often a lot of money for little effect.
Therefore, good advice is always worth its weight in gold, such as from American-Supps. I would say just to give a recommendation for good energy that is not too strong without a crash, I would take the AMINO ENERGY from Optimum Nutrition.
If you are already an old hand in the bodybuilding and fitness business, then I would currently recommend the Radical Riot.

The best Pre-Workout BoosterWhat´s in Pre-Workout?
The most popular pre-workout booster ingredients are caffeine in various forms and from different sources, lactate inhibitors such as beta-alanine, citrulline malate and arginine for better blood flow and amino acids such as BCAAs. Some boosters also contain glutamine or creatine for more strength. It also always depends on whether it is a pump booster or hardcore booster. For a pre-workout to be called a hardcore booster, it must contain additional stimulants.
The most Pre -Workout ingredients
Synonyms: Citrus Aurantium, Zhi Shi, Bitter Orange
Area of use: fat burning and appetite suppressant
Expected effect: fat burning and appetite suppressant
Proven effect: fat burning and appetite suppressant
Side effects: none if a reasonable dose is taken, in rare cases dry mouth, thirst, sleep disorders and urination problems
Dosage range and duration of use: 30 mg per day, divided into three equal doses
Natural occurrence: Usually not yet available in isolated form. Synephrine occurs naturally in Citrus Arantium
Synephrine, the main active ingredient in Citrus Aurantium (also known as Zhi Shi, Green Orange, Bitter Orange and Sour Orange), is very similar to ephedrine, which also explains why synephrine has largely taken its place after the ban on ephedra-containing supplements in the USA.
The supplement manufacturers naturally speak of an equivalent replacement, but the reality - as is often the case - is unfortunately somewhat different. One trump card that the manufacturers repeatedly try to play is the scientifically proven effectiveness in rats. Here, synephrine does indeed show fat-burning potential.
The only problem is that the buyers of these products are not rats. Human organisms and those of rats are similar in many ways - but transferring effectiveness from animals to humans is often a risky undertaking. This example confirms this once again, because practical experience suggests that synephrine definitely does not have the same impact as ephedrine.
Does that mean it is useless? No, definitely not, because synephrine offers the user a number of advantages that ephedrine cannot. Like ephedrine, synephrine belongs to the group of sympathomimetics. The only difference between these two active substances is that the former is semi-selective, while the latter has non-selective properties.
What is the difference? While ephedrine indiscriminately affects any target tissue, including the heart, and can sometimes lead to serious undesirable side effects such as increased blood pressure, inner restlessness and irregular heartbeat, the effect of synephrine is mainly limited to fatty tissue, so it hardly puts any strain on the cardiovascular system.
Another difference lies in the different receptors that these substances address. We know that ephedrine indiscriminately blocks all beta receptors, while synephrine only prefers the beta-3 and alpha-1 receptors.
This is also one of the reasons why ephedrine is more effective in practice, as more intensive fat burning occurs across the beta receptors.
What is immediately apparent in the intake schedules is that the recommended ephedrine or ephedra dose is usually between 200 and 500% higher than the recommended amount of synephrine. While a single dose of 20-50 mg of ephedrine is considered quite common, the intake of synephrine is usually 10 mg. Unfortunately, my research could not give me any information as to why this is the case.
It is obvious that the American supplement industry is a little more cautious with dosage recommendations after the many deaths caused by the intake of ephedra or ephedrine. What is surprising is that even in independent bodybuilding magazines and Internet discussion forums the same dosage is considered the standard. So far, no one seems to have tried to see whether 50 mg of synephrine might not have the same impact as the same amount of ephedrine.
This would be a truly interesting experiment, especially in view of the fact that the undesirable side effects such as nervousness, increased sweating and cardiovascular stress are largely absent when taking synephrine.
One reason for the moderate dosages is certainly the fact that synephrine has so far only been available in combination with other substances as part of a fat burner stack, which would mean an increase in the intake of the other combination preparations if the dosage were increased. If we think of caffeine, for example, it is obvious why no one is experimenting with two to five times the dosage. So what can you expect from taking synephrine?
Similar to ephedrine, there is an increase in thermogenesis and metabolism as well as a slight loss of appetite. Using synephrine as a pre-workout booster doesn't make much sense, as its stimulant properties are simply not enough.
If you need an extra kick after a hard day at work, use ephedrine or caffeine instead, as synephrine will disappoint you for this purpose. If you use synephrine as a fat burner and appetite suppressant, you can consider adding ephedra or ephedrine, yohimbine and caffeine, as this blocks all relevant receptors, resulting in a more intense overall effect.
However, you should be aware that this approach again brings with it unwanted side effects.
Synephrin Suggested use
Let's get to the recommended dosage: Since synephrine is usually found in fat burner stacks in combination with other active ingredients, the manufacturer's recommendations are generally followed. If, contrary to expectations, you manage to get hold of synephrine in isolated form, 10 mg three times a day is standard, although this dosage can easily be increased to 20 mg per single dose due to the lack of negative effects on the cardiovascular system. In order to benefit from the appetite-suppressing effect of synephrine, it should be taken about half an hour to three quarters of an hour before a planned meal.
Synephrine side effects
There is not much to say about the side effects, as they are largely absent with the specified dosage. However, dry mouth and thirst, sleep disorders and urination problems can occasionally occur.
Synephrin Conclusion
Synephrine is an excellent diet support for women, sensitive athletes and those who are concerned about the lowest possible side effects.
2. Beta Alanine
Beta alanine plays an important role as an acid regulator in the muscles by reducing the natural acid production in the muscles. The cause of the burning sensation in the muscles is the formation of too much muscle acid (lactate or lactic acid). This burning sensation can be delayed by taking beta alanine.
Beta alanine is a non-essential amino acid. The body produces it in the liver and it is also absorbed through the normal diet. Beta alanine is found in animal foods such as poultry and beef.
In comparison to alanine, the amino acid group in beta alanine is located on the second (beta) carbon atom after the carboxy carbon atom. In alanine, the amino acid group is located on the first (alpha) carbon atom. Beta alanine is absorbed by the muscle fibers in the body, regardless of whether it was produced by the liver or taken through diet or as a dietary supplement.
Beta alanine is mainly used to stimulate muscle growth and prevent muscle breakdown. Beta alanine also acts as an acid buffer, so that during strenuous activity the unpleasant burning sensation caused by the excess lactic acid in the muscle does not occur so quickly.
Muscle endurance increases and more repetitions can be performed, which leads to greater stimulation for the muscle and thus promotes muscle building. If you train accordingly and pay attention to your diet, beta alanine is an important supplement for building muscle.
What to eat as a pre-workout Booster?
In order for your body to get going, it needs to be full of nutrients. A healthy and easily digestible snack is ideal for this. A pre-workout snack gives you the energy you need during training and also supports you after your Workout.
The last big meal before training should have been at least 2 hours ago, otherwise the food will sit heavily in your stomach. If your stomach is still growling because you just haven't managed to eat properly, you can find a few suitable pre-workout snacks here.
Bananas
The good old school pre-workout snack is and will remain the banana. No wonder, it is easy to digest and keeps you full for a long time.
The carbohydrates in the form of fructose provide quick Energy.
Dried fruit
Dried fruit also provides quick energy. Even small amounts contain a lot of power. The quick carbohydrates enter the blood quickly and make the energy available quickly.
Dried fruit also provides plenty of potassium and supports
muscle regeneration after training.
Walnuts
Before training, walnuts provide your body with omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium and healthy amino acids. Omega-3 fatty acids have a positive effect on your cholesterol level and keep the blood vessels nice and supple. Vitamin E is an antioxidant and protects the cells from premature damage.
Another benefit: walnuts keep you full for a long time and keep blood sugar levels constant. This reduces cravings and supports the body in burning fat.
